Hosting the competition requires limited effort. Venues (including schools, educational centers, private organizations, and more) simply provide a suitable room with tables and chairs, ensure minimal on-site supervision during the event, and appoint one designated contact person to coordinate with our team. We provide everything else, including all puzzle kits, answer sheets, and instructions, and promotional materials. Registration for the 6th EDITION (2026) is now open:
People of all ages are welcome to join the World Mechanical Puzzle Competition (subject to venue discretion) and can register individually for a specific venue through our website (typically in September). On competition day (typically in late November), participants attend their chosen venue and have two hours to solve seven puzzles. All participants receive the same set of seven original mechanical puzzles, designed with varied difficulty levels and materials: no prior experience or preparation is required. Each puzzle reveals a word or number when solved, in a way participants record their answers on the provided sheet and keep the puzzles after the event. Top performers in each category earn special prizes and are featured in the global rankings.
Logical reasoning is rarely taught as a dedicated subject, yet it remains a fundamental life skill. Through their rich variety, mechanical puzzles stimulate distinct cognitive processes, fostering reasoning, problem-solving, and out-of-the-box thinking. Because each puzzle operates differently, the act of solving them trains the mind to become more independent, inventive, and resourceful. When combined with play, learning transforms into an experience that is both engaging and accessible to all.
The World Mechanical Puzzle Competition embodies core STEM principles, making them accessible to everyone through hands-on puzzles that blend logic and simple engineering into playful discovery.
The competition stands out among educational events by combining:
• Fairness - Success depends on observation, strategy, perseverance, dexterity, and 3D reasoning - not just mathematical skill. Anyone can excel, regardless of previous training or background.
• Curiosity - Mechanical puzzles are physical and tactile, sparking natural curiosity through texture, design, movement, and sound.
• Craftsmanship - Each puzzle is handmade, reminding participants of the beauty of tangible, artisanal objects in a digital age. Every participant keeps their puzzles as a lasting, shareable learning experience.
Our goal is to promote mechanical puzzles as meaningful brain-boost games that nurture creativity, focus, and perseverance for all ages.
We aim to show that mechanical puzzles are powerful learning and team-building tools that bring people together and make experiences fun, social, and deeply rewarding. By partnering with schools, libraries, educational centers, community hubs, and organizations of all kinds, we turn every event into a shared celebration of curiosity, problem-solving, and hands-on discovery.
Mechanical puzzles are crafted from quality materials such as wood, acrylic or metal and come in many forms - assembly, disentanglement, interlocking, mazes, hidden mechanisms, and more.
Their power lies in their tactile nature: physical, collectible objects that invite direct interaction and spark curiosity. Each puzzle challenges the solver to persist until every secret is uncovered - whether by assembling shapes, unlocking a mechanism, or separating interlocked pieces.
Though rooted in ancient traditions, mechanical puzzles are experiencing a modern revival through online communities and live events. They can be cherished as gifts, collectibles, or shared moments of playful discovery.

Whether you’re a school, educational center, private organization, or any partner that can provide suitable space and minimal on-site supervision, you can host the 2026 (6th Edition) of the World Mechanical Puzzle Competition (WMPC). By hosting, you’ll offer a unique hands-on experience for your community (or team), and become part of a global network of distinguished venues.
How it works:
1. Register your venue: complete the online form with your venue details and a primary contact. We will coordinate directly with this person to answer questions and share key updates, keeping hosting requirements minimal.
2. Participant registration opens in September: you may promote the opportunity within your organization/community, or beyond, at your discretion. We will provide promotional materials, and participants will register on our website (group/sponsored registrations available).
3. Host the competition: based on the registrations linked to your venue, we will ship all the material well in advance. The competition is typically held the last Saturday of November at 3PM, but we offer flexibility to accommodate venue-specific needs.
